In a bid to reduce household hazards, Byron Shire, Tweed Shire and Richmond Valley Councils are providing free Household Chemical surrender days and chemical disposal services at local waste facilities.
Household quantities of up to 20 litres of household chemicals will be accepted. Products such as paint and paint-related products; pesticides, herbicides and poisons; solvents and household cleaners; pool chemicals; acids and alkalis and hobby chemicals can be dropped off on the Household Chemical Collection days.
